Withdrawals Continue For Miami

The withdrawals list for the Miami Masters have grown a little bit longer with Serena Williams and Juan Martin del Potro adding themselves to the list of injured players. Serena Williams cites continued problems with her knee, injured in the warm up to the Australian Open, as her reason for withdrawing. Juan Martin's wrist, which has been bothering him for months, has still not recovered fully and he will continue to rest and rehab it, in a hope to be fit for the clay court tournaments and Roland Garros.

Maria Sharapova has also withdrawn after an MRI showed her sore elbow was actually a bruised bone that will have her off the tour for 3-6 weeks. Nikolay Davydenko will miss the next few tournaments after discovering his injured wrist was actually broken. His wrist will be in a splint for 4 weeks and then his rehab will start after that. Dinara Safina remains off the tour after struggling with a back injury since late last season.
