American Wayne Odesnik, who Andy Roddick called a jackass after he recently pleaded guilty in Brisbane for entering Australia with viles of Human Growth Hormone (HGH), is playing this week in Houston. The ITF says he is able to continue competing while the investigation continue.
This is ridiculous. I would be furious if I was the person he beat today in the first round. If he’s using drugs, as admitted to carrying them and therefore I lose ranking points and income because of something as stupid as continuing to investigate I would feel hard done by. What more is there to investigate? He’s pleaded guilty!! Not surprisingly wild card Jerzy Janowicz was of the same opinion, saying He should be suspended. There are bad feelings right now. He shouldn’t play right now.”
This seems strange seeing the drug testing is so over the top, that despite being busted he’s still playing. They need to pull him off court and protect the people who are working hard.
Laughably Odensnik thinks he is working hard… It’s a lot easier with a little HGH on board Wayne.
“I’m doing the only thing I can do right now, and that’s to focus the best I can on my tennis. I’ve worked extremely hard and I’m looking forward to the clay court season because that’s where I usually excel.”
Well if that’s where you usually excel why bother carrying (and probably taking the difficult to detect drug) HGH, it’s only going to ruin your career.
Whatever happens now, suspension or not, his career will always have a black mark on it.
