While both Andy Murray and Roger Federer are off licking their wounds after disappointing exits from Wimbledon, they are both apparently doing very different things.
While Murray is reportedly looking for a new coach in Daren Cahill, Federer has decided he wants to buy his home tournament in Basel, Switzerland which has a starting price of 12 million Swizz Franks if the current owners are prepared to sell it. The possible purchase is potentially a sign that Federer is starting to look beyond his playing years, acknowledging that his peak form, at this point, appears to be behind him.
After his quarterfinal loss Federer had said he intended to take two weeks holiday and step away from tennis having not won a tournament since he claimed his 16th Grand Slam at the Australian Open at the beginning of the year.
After Wimbledon over the last few years Andy Murray has headed to Florida to work on his fitness ahead of the American hard court season. Miles Maclagan will apparently stay with him until after the US Open at which point he is likely to switch coaches. It has been recently noted that whenever Murray has a lapse in results he always switches coaches.
