It has been revealed that Serena Williams will miss the tournaments on the American hard court circuit after having foot surgery, however, she is adamant she will be ready for the US Open. This will be the second time this year that Serena has taken a large period of time off to deal with injury immediately after winning a Grand Slam.
Earlier in the year she spent more than two months resting a knee injury after winning the Australian Open, instead enjoying numerous parties, media events, nail school and beach fun.
According to Serena’s website her foot was injured recently will dining at a restaraunt where she cut her foot with glass. The severity of the injury is not know.
