It has been announced today by Tennis Australia that the 2011 Hopman Cup will host a star studded line up in the quest for national pride (and a diamond tennis ball). While this years champions Tommy Robredo and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez have not announced if they will attempt to defend their win, it has been announced that Serena Williams will partner John Isner.
The Americans will be a deadly force, with the huge hitting John Isner showing his form this year with numerous finals and a marathon 11 hour first round Wimbledon match against Nicolas Mahut.
Serena and John will face the Serbian team of Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic and a strong team from Belgium made up by Justine Henin and Steve Darcis. Amongst the list of Grand Slam champions that will be in Perth is (as always) Lleyton Hewitt who has yet to announce his partner.
Last years favourite Laura Robson has not announced yet that she intends to play – neither has Andy Murray. The duo were runners up this year to the Spaniards.
Gael Monfils has also been confirmed for France.
