Bryan Brothers To The Rescue In USA V Chile Davis Cup Tie

The best doubles team in the world, Bob and Mike Bryan, have defeated Nicolas Massu and Jorge Aguilar 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 in 2 hours 18 minutes to give America a more hopeful 2-1 scoreline after big John Isner was surprised in five sets by Paul Capdeville.

The win marked the brothers 17th win in 20 Davis Cup doubles matches, their first under new team Captain Jim Courier.

Andy Roddick will now take on Paul Capdeville in an attempt to close out the tie for USA on their least favourite surface.

“It felt really good to get back out there and there is no excitement like Davis Cup. There were no nerves, we trained hard all week and we really had a blast out here today – especially playing for Jim. It’s our first time doing that and just looking over and seeing him, you just want to play well. Today it felt great and kind of like being back home. We love playing Davis Cup and we’ll play Davis Cup as long as he calls upon us.”
