Roger Federer
seems to be enjoying life flying ‘under’ the radar. Federer’s never really under the radar but he’s about as under it as he has been in recent times and yet he pummeled Janko Tipsarevic 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in just 90 minutes.
Federer said in his post match press conference that he felt that the key to the match was his dominance in the first set because it planted the seed of doubt in Janko’s mind. Federer overpowered Janko so effectively in the first set that in its short 19 minutes the Serb only won 10 points.
“I’m very happy, really. I thought that it would have been a lot more difficult. The first set was the key. That gave me confidence and it made him doubt his game plan.”
Roger now faces the winner of Stanislas Wawrinka V Jo Wilfried Tsonga.
