Moments after losing his four set semi final match to Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from Queens to rest his injured knee which has been strapped for some months. It seems five days of rest before his match with Federer was not enough to help his knee out, Djokovic saying he needs more rest ahead of Wimbledon.
“I’ve pulled out from Queen’s and I will take a rest before Wimbledon.”
It’s a big loss for the tournament that is also facing the loss of Andy Murray (who should rest!!!) who is waiting to see how he feels as he reduces the amount of anti-inflamatories he’s taking down from the rumoured 20 per day. Realistically if you have to take that many drugs to play you shouldn’t be playing.
Mardy Fish (abdominal injury) and Richard Gasquet (leg problem) have also withdrawn.
