na Ivanovic’s confidence was visibly growing as she thumped Eleni Daniilidou from Greece 6-3, 6-0 to book her place in the third round. The two women traded multiple early breaks before a sloppy game from Eleni gave Ivanovic a 4-3 lead that then forced Eleni to try to serve to stay in the first set which she failed to do.
From there it was all Ivanovic as she steam rolled Dabiilidou despite the Greek’s brief attempt at an all out attack.
Ivanovic used the drop shot to out maneuver her opponent who almost seemed to not have a backup plan.
Ivanovic will now face either Petra Cetkovska or Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in the third round.
