It was an easy day at the office for Novak Djokovic who progressed seamlessly into the second round of the Australian Open after defeating Paolo Lorenzi 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.
It was the perfect start for the Serbian world number one who won a record number of Masters 1000 titles, prize money and walked away with a 70-6 record for 2011.
Confidence oozed out of Djokovic and rang alarm bells for anyone thinking that the Serbian might not be able to have a blinding 2012 as well.
“I feel right now … much more complete as a player, you know, and as a person as well.
I think it was a learning process for me in the last couple of years. I just have more confidence that I’m playing on right now.
I just believe that I can win, especially against the biggest rivals in the major events.”
