Federer Beats Djokovic For Wimbledon Final

Roger Federer has booked his place in the finals of Wimbledon after beating defending champion and world number one Novak Djokovic 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Roger Federer with not only improve his ranking with his finals spot but also has a chance to win his seventh Wimbledon title.

After the match was leveled at one set all Federer charged at Novak so intensely for a beak in the sixth game that not even the flexible Novak could slide into his shots. A shanked backhand was the beginning of three errors that got Nole out of a significant tight spot to level at 3-3.

A quick service game, courtesy of the Federer serve, with some beautiful penetrating shots from each player, heaped the pressure back on the Serb.

A missed smash when serving to stay in the third set gave Federer double set point. On his second chance he put away a smash for a two sets to one lead with a huge fist pump.

Maintaining his momentum Federer quickly raced to a 3-0 lead. Djokovic struggled through his service games, eventually fighting to 2-4, but the depth and placement of the Federer serve placed him just one game away from the final he’s wanted so desperately.

Federer’s performance shows just how much motivation does for his game and possibly re-opens the debate that over the last 2 years his motivation has dropped ever so slightly.
