Andy Roddick’s Career Comes To A Halt

He was America’s top male tennis player for so many years but Andy Roddick’s career has ended after a valiantly fought, rain delayed, four set match against Juan Martin del Potro.

It was a great champion who finally ended Andy’s emotional run at the US Open as the great American fought to go out respectably, and on his own terms

The 2003 champion eventually beat the 2002 champion 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4. The US Open will remain the only Grand Slam ever won by Andy.

With the support of his family, friends, team and wife Brooklyn Decker, Roddick – who was always an entertaining and intelligent man to watch on court and in press conferences – tearfully bid farewell to the New York crowd and the professional circuit.
