The Hopman Cup celebrated the new year in Perth with an invitation only black tie ball. Aussie Jarmilla Gajdosova looked beautiful in a Carla Zampatti gown. Lleyton Hewitt looked very dapper in a black suit as he escorted wife Bec to the ball, saying that he hoped in the new year their youngest child, Ava, would start sleeping through the night so they could get some sleep!
Jarmila Gajdosova can’t catch a break. After a heart breaking divorce in which she was accused of marrying Sam Groth to get Australian citizenship she has now decided to leave Twitter after receiving ongoing abuse.
Jarmila has previously been accused of being a gold digger despite being significantly more successful on court than her ex-husband and has now been called ‘gutless’ and a ‘fucking joke’ while telling her to get out of Australia.
To say their obscene and unfair is a gross understatement. Read on at your own risk. Read more »
Just out of curiosity I had a look at the WTA rankings today to have a look at how many players with ‘ova’ as the last three letters of their surname were in the top 100. There were 19 – and that’s not even counting Barbora Zahlavova Strycova twice! That means almost one in every five players in the top 100 is an Ova!
The heartbreaking plight of Virginie Razzano showed at the end of her first round match against Jarmila Gajdosova at Roland Garros. Razzano bravely attended the French Open just days after the death and subsequent burial of her fiance and former coach Stephane Vidal.
“I felt a lot of emotion, a lot of pain on court today. The pain is permanent within me. It’s very hard. But it felt good to be surrounded by so many people and to be here.
I tried to pay tribute to Stephane today. It was almost a ‘mission impossible,’ but I did my best.”
Virginie Razzano has won hearts and respect around the world simply by walking on centre court in Paris to play her first round match against Jarmila Gajdosova. Razzano’s fiance and former coach Stephan Vidal died just 8 days ago (May 16) at age 32 after a nine year battle with a brain tumour.
Wearing her heart on her sleeve and a black ribbon on her shirt Razzano was beaten by Australian Gajdosova, who incidentally has recently announced her divorce from Sam Groth, 6-3, 6-1 on Court Philippe Chatrier. Read more »
Jarmilla Gajdosova has a tough job ahead of her in Paris if she wants to do well at Roland Garros. Gajdosova’s split from husband Sam Groth was made public three weeks ago and was followed by a series of Tweets from the Australian that expressed her frustration and pain. Her battle now is to try and contain her emotions or channel them into something positive.
In her first round Gajdosova has drawn fellow heart broken player Virginie Razzano. Razzano’s partner died at the beginning of this week after battling a brain tumour for a number of years and the Frenchwoman will have huge crowd support as she fights for his memory Read more »
Apparently Jarmila Gajdosova, who recently finalized her divorce from fellow player Sam Groth, has been accused of marrying the Australian for money or citizenship. Jarmila has taken to Twitter to defend herself, rightly so, from these accusations (see below).
I’ve got to say I feel sorry for both of them. Life is hard enough right now without having to put up with this sort of rubbish. Sometimes relationships just don’t work out – that simple. Read more »
Jarmila and Sam Groth are officially divorced according to recent news just past their two year wedding anniversary. Jarmila, 23, is now on the WTA ranking system under her maiden name of Gajdosova following the news, most of which was confirmed via her Twitter account.
