Federer Concerned About Nadal’s Knee Issues

The issues Rafael Nadal has had with his knees, and his treatments and injury time outs, have been well documented over the years. It seems with each injury period the media starts talking retirement – but I have to say it is an unusual situation and even Federer has said  it’s “big surprise, these two pullouts. I’m sad for him. I hope he’ll be back for the Open.”

Nadal made no secret that his goals for the 2012 season were Roland Garros and the Olympics. Ultimately, after losing early at Wimbledon, Rafa went home for some R&R – and apparently another PRP injection. Read more »

Nadal Looking For Eighth Title In Monte Carlo

Rafael Nadal has put on an impressive performance against a sharp Gilles Simon to book a place in the Monte Carlo finals for a chance to win his eighth consecutive title in the principality. Nadal beat his French opponent 6-3, 6-4.

Rafa came into this tournament under an injury cloud but with an impressive 234 wins and 18 losses in his clay court career. Simon came in under the radar.

Both players started playing entertaining tennis from the beginning of the match with Simon producing blinding winners that even beat Nadal’s forehand for power, placement and pace. Read more »

Nadal Loses Passion And Match

Rafael Nadal has been sent packing from the World Tour Finals with just one win to his name. Tonga’s 6-7, 4-6, 6-3 victory was the final hit of the season for Nadal as he now shifts his focus to the Davis Cup final.

Nadal And Perello Among The Stars And Spouses In London

The top eight male players tennis players for the season stepped out for  ‘A Night With The Stars’ Barclays ATP World Tour Finals Gala hosted by Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. The event was supported by Moet & Chandon at Battersea Power Station.

Nadal was accompanied by long term love Xisca Perello who posed for photos with her man and was seen enjoying his company throughout the night. Novak Djokovic was joined by his long time girlfriend Jelena Ristic and Tomas Berdych was joined by his new girlfriend. Read more »

Xisca Perello London Bound

Rafael Nadal’s girlfriend of 6 years is moving to London to study business management and English. The 23 year old Mallorcan who has previously studied business administration in Palma de Mallorca.

The beautiful Spaniard who rarely comments to media has reportedly said, “Rafael and I will be seeing less of each other from now on.” Despite the obvious issues of a long distance relationship Nadal and Perello seem to thrive. In Nadal’s new book RAFA, Xisca was quoted saying “If I followed him everywhere, I think there’s a risk we might stop getting along.” Read more »

Nadal Tops Nalbandian But Crippled By Cramps

Rafael Nadal booked his place in the fourth round of the US Open with  his 7-6, 6-1, 7-5 victory over David Nalbandian. It was a more confident sharp performance from the Spanish world number two but the aftermath of the effort saw him cramping in agony in his post match press conference.

The tightly contested first set saw Rafa claw his way back after he was broken and trailing 2-3. Nalbandian was cracking brilliant winners around the court but Nadal was the more consistent of the two and, seemingly more confident than in previous rounds, used his forehand down the line to great effect. RAFA Memoir Review

The long awaited English memoir for former world number one and ten-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal, titled RAFA, will be released on August 23 and certainly had me interested being a huge Nadal fan.

His memoir doesn’t disappoint. Does it drag on at times about the finer details of the Wimbledon 2008 final? Sure, but everyone still talks about that match and remembers it fondly and clearly so does Rafa. What is more interesting is the insights gained into his family and team dynamics as well as the little idiosyncrasies that make differentiate Rafael from Rafa. Read more »

Kisses In The Spanish Sun For Rafael Nadal And Xisca Perello

Despite having to enjoy some beach games with his injured left ankle strapped, Rafael Nadal looks like he’s been having a great time in the Mallorcan sunshine. Days after he was seen on a man-cation in Ibiza and then on his jet ski in Mallorca, Nadal has now enjoyed time with a large group and his long time girlfriend Xisca Perello.

Body Watch: Rafael Nadal – Update – Nadal Fit To Play

After the first set in the fourth round match between Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro there were serious concerns the Spanish number one would not be able to continue playing. As the match progressed Nadal found some incredible intensity and form and wore del Potro down.

An MRI has revealed there is no serious injury to Rafa’s left foot. While the details of the scan have obviously not been revealed while Nadal is still in competition he will play Mardy Fish in tomorrow’s quarterfinal. Read more »
